ABOUT: An eye catching and highly detailed artwork of Milford Sound, New Zealand. On the left is the iconic Mitre Peak/Rahotu (1,683m – 5,522 ft), well known as a spectacular natural attraction and 8th wonder of the world! It is one of the most photographed peaks in the country. The distinctive shape of the peak gives the mountain its name, after the mitre headwear of Christian bishops. It was named by Captain John Lort Stokes of the HMS Acheron. To the right in the distance is Mount Pembroke and Bowen Falls in the foreground. Located on the southwest of the South Island in Fiordland National Park, the 16km length from the head of the Fiord to the open sea is lined with sheer rock faces that soar 1,200m high from the water. Milford Sound is often called one of the most beautiful places on Earth and is a stunning sight.
This one-off original artwork was painted with high quality Langridge Professional Artists’ Oil (handmade in Melbourne) on premium stretched deep edge cotton duck canvas. It is finished with Windsor & Newton Gloss varnish for UV protection and longevity. A collectors authenticity certificate is included for valuation & insurance purposes.
